Each year the Youth Council run a project to help finance a specific area of God’s work. The current project is to raise funds for three new missionaries who have recently received the call of God to labour in Uganda namely Rev & Mrs Miller along with Mr Andrew Foster. These missionaries make up part of a team who are taking over the running of Emmanuel Christian School which was started in 2004 by Rev Noel Kelly and his wife Stella. The school is situated in Nsaalu in the Kalungu district of Uganda which is approximately eighty five miles from the capital Kampala.
The school has grown considerably over the years with a current enrolment of two hundred and thirty five children with twelve teachers and a number of other auxiliary staff. The children come mostly from Uganda but there are also children at the school from neighbouring east African countries such as Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania. In addition some sixty children Board on the School Campus. In 2014 Rev Kelly wrote to the FPC mission Board to ask if they would consider taking over the school. A delegation was sent out to visit the work and brought back a very favourable report, and as a result the Presbytery of Ulster FPC gave its unanimous support to this venture.
The Youth Council consider it a privilege to help this next generation of missionaries as they go to spread the gospel in foreign lands.
